Organisers, City Centre Initiative (CCI) and Londonderry Chamber of Commerce (LCC) have been running the awards for over 20 years, to recognise and celebrate local businesses and entrepreneurs who have accomplished over the year. Together with the award sponsors, they are now appealing to members of the public and businesses to put forward their nominations before noon on Friday 14th April 2023.

Anna Doherty, Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and Jim Roddy, City Centre Initiative said the gala awards night is now recognised as one of the North West’s most distinguished events, celebrating businesses throughout the city and wider North West region and is a unique opportunity for businesses to raise their profile and engage with key influencers.
Jim Roddy, City Centre Manager, CCI added, “These awards are about honouring the great work that has been done over the past year by our businesses and entrepreneurs, especially those who have taken that step beyond to innovate and contribute to the economy within the North West.
“Our nomination process is now open until Friday 14th April 2023 and we invite anyone who would like to enter or nominate a business or entrepreneur based in the Derry City & Strabane district area, to do so before then. The process is very simple and can be completed online via the brand new North West Business Awards website or by contacting CCI or LCC. We have quite a number of categories this year, thanks to our sponsors including Hotel of the Year, Eco Champions Business of the Year, Young Business Person of the Year, Innovation & Technology Award, Creative Marketer of the Year, Contribution to the NW Economy Award, Creative Industries Business of the Year, Retailer of the Year Award, Restaurant of the Year, North West Business Hero, Pub of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Taste of the North West and Educational Partnership Award.
