About The Fuel Cards

WEX manage a range of fuel cards in several markets across the continent. Since 1983, they have been improving productivity, streamlining payment processes, consolidating reporting and helping businesses reduce their costs.

The Fuelwise Fuel Card is designed for small and large businesses, providing a safe, secure and convenient method for purchasing fuel. Fuelwise has been in business since 1989 and was Ireland’s first fuel card supplier. They have continued to expand their product portfolio and alongside fuel cards offer Telematics, Vehicle Cameras and Vehicle Check solutions.

Fuel Card Pricing

Both fuel card providers offer a fixed weekly price, which means that one price is sent each week which is valid at every site on their respective networks.

Site Network

According to the WEX website, their ESSO Fuel Card  is accepted at 3,600 fuel stations across the UK.

The Fuelwise Fuel Card can be used at 399 fuel stations in Northern Ireland, 1,406 in Republic of Ireland plus a further 3,750 stations in the UK mainland. This is a combined site network of 5,750 fuel stations.

Online Tools

Both WEX  and Fuelwise Fuel Card provide their customers with access to Velocity Fleet.

It is an online account management system designed for the fuel card industry and used by multiple providers.

Using Velocity, you can manage your fuel cards, access invoices, create bespoke reports, view your latest transactions and track your vehicles using GPS Vehicle Tracking.

Card Fee

Both WEX Fuel Card and Fuelwise Fuel Card have an annual card fee of £15.00.

The WEX annual card fee is divided into twelve monthly payments of £1.25.
