Getting fuel cards for your business can streamline fuel management, reduce expenses, and simplify record-keeping. However, understanding the process and key benefits upfront is essential. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through what to expect after your account has been created, from getting fuel cards to receiving your cards to getting your first invoice.
Welcome Email
Every Fuelwise customer receives a Welcome Email which contains helpful information to get you started. It will contain information such as your account number, account manager, credit limits, current prices plus links to download our apps.
This email is very handy as it enables you to be prepared for when your fuel cards arrive.
Receiving Fuel Cards & PINs
The next step is to actually get your fuel cards. Once your account has been setup your fuel cards will be dispatched. The fuel cards and PINs are always sent separately to maximise security and are normally received within 7 working days from dispatch.
Many customers receive them quicker, the seven working days is a guide as postage times can differ greatly across different parts of the UK and Ireland.
Activate Fuel Card
Unlike other fuel cards, the Fuelwise Fuel Card does not need to be activated. It is ready to use once you receive it!
Download Fuel Card Site Locator App
An important task when getting fuel cards is to download the Fuel Card Site Locator app.
This app contains details of every fuel station that the Fuelwise Fuel Card is accepted at, and is updated often. Either enter your current location or the start and end point of your journey and you will be provided with fuel stations that match your search. You can even filter to view sites that provide HGV facilities, Ad Blue and 24 hour opening.

Activate Velocity Fleet
Velocity Fleet is the online account management system that you receive access to.
Once your account has been created you will be sent an activation email. All that is required is to create your password.
Using Velocity Fleet you can access your fuel card details, order and stop cards, create bespoke reports plus download copy invoices.
Your activation email is sent to the email address provided during the sign up stage.
Using Your Fuel Card
Once you receive your fuel card and choose your fuel station, all that is left is to actually use the fuel card.

Receive Your First Invoice
After using your fuel cards you will receive your first invoice. Every customer receives a weekly invoice which is then collected as per your agreed payment terms.
Your invoice will be emailed to your billing email address and additional copies are available to download from Velocity Fleet.
